Business Controller
Join CHIMI as a Business Controller in Stockholm: partner with the CFO, steer profitability and inventory, and enable data-driven decisions across Production, Design and Commercial teams.
CHIMI is looking for a Business Controller to join our team in Stockholm.
This is a central role at the heart of the business, where finance meets product, buying and commercial performance. You will partner closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams across Production, Design and Commercial to drive profitability, optimize inventory and strengthen data-driven decision-making as we scale globally.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the business, understands the full value chain from product development to sales, and thrives in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
The role is based at CHIMI’s headquarters in central Stockholm.
The Role
As Business Controller at CHIMI, you will operate at the center of the business, owning and developing the company’s financial and analytical framework. You will act as a trusted business partner to the CFO and management team, providing clear financial insights, performance tracking and decision support across the organization.
The scope is broad, with a strong focus on business performance, profitability and inventory optimization across the organization. A key part of the role is driving structured business analysis - spanning inventory buying and allocation, stock efficiency and sell-through, as well as broader commercial and operational performance. You will build and strengthen scalable reporting frameworks that enable data-driven decision-making and support sustainable, profitable growth as the company scales. You will work cross-functionally across Production, Design and Commercial teams, acting as a financial and analytical partner to both the organization and management, providing insights that drive clarity, alignment and performance across functions.
Key Responsibilities
Own weekly and monthly business reporting across sales channels and markets.
Define, track and communicate KPIs across sales, margin, inventory and overall business performance.
Drive commercial and financial analysis to identify risks, opportunities and performance gaps.
Own and drive inventory planning, buying decisions and cross-channel stock allocation, optimizing inventory levels, sell-through, markdown strategy and profitability, while protecting capital efficiency.
Support management and the broader organization through structured analysis, providing clear decision support and financial insight across both strategic and operational initiatives.
Develop and improve reporting structures, analytical frameworks and performance follow-up processes as the company scales.
Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning in close collaboration with the CFO.
Your Profile
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
Relevant experience in controlling, merchandising, demand planning or similar analytical role.
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills - comfortable building complex financial models and working with large datasets.
Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into clear business insights.
Solid understanding of financial statements, margin structures and business performance drivers.
Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced organization.
Strong communication skills - able to present insights clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Experience with ERP systems and BI tools such as Microsoft Business Central, Power BI or Qlik Sense.
Experience from retail, fashion, consumer goods or e-commerce.
Who you are:
Results-driven with a strong commercial mindset and a clear understanding of how decisions impact margin, inventory and overall business performance.
Analytical and structured, with the ability to zoom out and see the big picture while maintaining sharp attention to details.
Confident taking ownership - you don’t just analyze numbers, you drive actions and follow through.
Collaborative and low-ego, enjoying working cross-functionally and building trust across teams.
Resourceful and solution-oriented, with the ability to challenge assumptions and improve existing ways of working.
A strong communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally and partnering with stakeholders across Production, Design and Commercial teams.
